The Bachelor of Science in Statistics program of the University of the Philippines Visayas in Miagao, Iloilo was first implemented in June 2000. It is a four-year course that provides students with a sound understanding of the underlying theories and applications of Statistics. Currently, it prides itself on the fact that it is the only Statistics program being offered in Western Visayas.
The BS Statistics program adheres to the University of the Philippines admission policy for incoming freshmen at the bachelor's level. The program is one of the non-quota courses offered in the University of the Philippines Visayas. Although BS Statistics is one of the non-quota courses, (i.e. there's no limit in the number of accepted freshman students into the course), the program accepts 30-35 incoming freshmen students, on the average, every academic year.
